LEE, ALBIN L., departed this life on July 21, 2013. He was born in Elizabethtown, KY the son of L.H. and Mayme T. Lee. His wife, Eva Rush Lee, is deceased. He leaves no direct blood relatives, only nieces and nephews and many of his “kids” and friends. He was a member of St. Matthews Baptist Church. He graduated from Elizabethtown High School, received BA and MA degrees from Western KY State College and the Ed D degree from Indiana University. He was selected for Who’s Who Among Students in American Colleges and Universities in 1949 – 1950. He became an educator because he believed that was where God was calling him to work. While in the U.S. Army, (1953-1955), he served as the first military counselor at the Ft. Campbell Post Education Center and helped establish educational rehab programs in the Post Stockade and the Post Hospital. He taught at Hodgenville High School and Southern High School, served as a counselor at Butler and Thomas Jefferson High Schools before going into the Central Office of the J.C.P.S. from which he retired as an assistant/associate superintendent. He also did some part-time teaching for U of L, Spalding, Murray State and I.U.S. He hopes it can be said that loved God, family, his “kids” and friends.
